Viva Espana! Na het proeven van deze perfecte droge witte wijn wordt duidelijk dat het niet alleen maar Spaans rood is die voor een wereldreputatie zorg kan dragen. De inheemse druivensoorten in onze nieuwe ontdekking mag er eveneens wezen. Perfect vullen - 80% treixadura, 10% albariño, 5% loureira en 5% godello - elkaar aan en vormen een zeldzaam harmonisch geheel.
De smaak is puur met appel, limoen en witte peper en kent een lange minerale afdronk met veel tropische fruittonen. Ongekende klasse die een ontmoeting met zeevruchten niet uit de weg zal gaan. Wellicht treed ie in de sporen van hun grote rode broers. Aanbevelingswaardig....

BASIC INFORMATION:
Varietal composition: 80% Treixadura, 10% Albariño, 5% Loureira and 5% Godello.
Soils: We have sandy and granitic soils.
Vineyard: We have 6 hectares (17 acres) approximately. Vineyards are situated in
Reboreda and Padín, in the township of Puga (Toén, Ourense).
Climatology: Soft Atlantic weather with continental influence
PRODUCTION:
Our grapes are picked by hand because it is impossible to use machinery in our
vineyards due to the terrace. Bunches are sorted in the vineyard. Once the grapes arrive
to the winery, the flower must is extracted with a soft pressing. After this process, the
must is kept in stainless steel vats. First step is to make a static debourbage, during 24
hours. After the debourbage, fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in our
new stainless-steel vats. Finally, the wine is aged at least 6 months in bottle, before
starting to be commercialized.
SENSORY AND VISUAL ANALYSIS:
Tasting appearance: It has a beautiful straw yellow colour, with green iridescence. It
seems glyceric at first sight.
Tasting nose: Frank, medium intensity. It is clean with fruity notes such as pineapple,
citrus, mango and bone white fruit, against a background of white flowers.
Tasting palate: It is fresh, lively and powerful on the palate, with a route marked by
fruity notes and a long finish that invites to repeat.
Type of bottle: Bordeaux.
HISTORY:
Valdepuga was created in 1998. At the beginning, the wines were elaborated at the family
house ground floor. After an important investment, the cellar was moved to a new
modern building. The current facilities were started to build in 2000. The winery is
situated in Reboreda, in the township of Puga (Toén, Ourense), on the bank of the river
Miño.

Service: Between 10 and 12º C.
Food matches: As a good Ribeiro wine, Valdepuga will match with every kind of fish and
shellfish. Furthermore, rice, white meat, marinade meat, fresh cheeses, salads, etc.
